March 26, 2019 – Tustin, CA – Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN), the world’s largest religious broadcast group with 28 international networks reaching every major continent, recently tapped DigitalGlue  – a leading equipment, integration, and software development provider – for the upgrade of its Master Control facilities at Tustin, California world headquarters. The project included a significant expansion of TBN’s playout capabilities and resulted in a future-proof system with dramatically improved workflow.

“TBN is a tremendous organization with an astounding reach of more than 2 billion viewers,” said someone at TBN. “We can’t risk disappointing our audience, so our systems and equipment need to be top notch and reliable. When it came time to replace an aging video server and automation system, we went with DigitalGlue a company we knew we could trust to design the best, most appropriate playout system available anywhere today.”

Working with TBN, DigitalGlue defined the network’s operational goals and furnished engineering support services to address its need for a Master Control playout system that incorporated future-proof technology and improved its workflow. Led by Larry Fischer, the DigitalGlue team configured a system with eight channels of Harmonic’s software-based Spectrum-X advanced media playout server at its core providing a total of 96TB of usable storage and featuring three ingest channels, two prep channels and nine play-out channels that all support MPEG-2, DV and AVC-Intra codecs.  The Spectrum-X is supported by Harmonic’s MediaCenter™ that combines media server and storage functions in one compact enclosure and is integrated with a Pebble Beach automation solution and an IPV media asset management system. A backup playout server was also provided for redundancy.

“We have a long-standing relationship with TBN and are honored and proud that they placed their trust in us for this important project,” said Sean Busby, DigitalGlue president.
