September 18. Sponsors Kaltura, Team People
Location, 25 Lusk restaurant
Attendees gathered and socialized; trading stories, learning about what others do. The panelists, Gregg Moss from Bank of America and Diana Nordrum from Mayo Clinic provided overviews of their teams. The moderated panel discussed challenges, projects, and scalability of their respective teams. Great questions from the audience for our panelists, asking about which platforms and tools are in use, keys to successful growth, and any lessons learned from the decades of experience in the room.
Event sponsors Kaltura and Team People presented briefly on their solutions. The session wrapped with lunch and some additional social time for our guests to interact, engage and share.

Previous EventsAR/VR What’s what?
Augmented Reality (AR) – any instance where you’re overlaying a virtual environment or digital objects on a device (such as your phone) and mapping it to the real world. It’s Pokémon GO, Snapchat filters. AMP Creative uses their own application (available at the app store!) to launch your phone’s camera, giving you access to their augmented business cards – in addition to contact info, it seamlessly links to and plays their demo reel.
Virtual Reality (VR) – A fully immersive experience where you’re cutting yourself off from the real word and entering a completely created environment.
The stats on learning and retention in a VR environment are impressive.
This highly educational experience was followed up by a VR demo and a tour of AMP’s studios.
Special thanks to our event sponsors, Kaltura and PayReel for a cutting edge experience.

Northern Region Metro MeetUP
Previous EventsThe Northern Region gathered for a great Metro Meetup on Thursday April 18, 2019 at the Cargill Headquarters in Wayzata Minnesota. 24 participants joined with a mix of members, partners and some guests attending a CMMA event for the first time. This audience included a handful of past CMMA Presidents and Conference Chairs.
The day started out with attendee networking time before the program. CMMA Partner, Kaltura, was the sponsor who provided a catered lunch plus lined up keynote speaker, Devin Drake, from Virtuvent who presented via videoconference from South Africa on Managing Risks for Live Events and Engaging Audiences. Devin used polling to interact with the group while leading an interactive discussion on best practices for live event production. He then shared insights on tools for engaging live audiences. Warren and Mitch then took the stage to provide information on the upcoming CMMA Connect Webinar on May 2 and an overview of the annual conference in San Diego.
The group finished up with a tour of the Cargill Global Media Production Studios and had another networking opportunity. Following the time at Cargill, Kaltura hosted a happy hour. A big thanks to Kaltura for their partnership in planning and sponsoring this event and for the great Northern Region community who participated to make it a success!
